Roof Replacement In Austin, TX
Asphalt Shingle, Tile, And Metal Roof Replacement For Austin Homeowners
We Tear It Off, Build It Right, And Don’t Cut Corners. Ever.
At Wolfpack Roofing & Exteriors, I get calls pretty regularly from Austin homeowners who were told they need a new roof. Sometimes that’s true. Sometimes somebody just knocked on the door after a storm three neighborhoods over and decided to take a shot.
When I come out, I’m going to tell you what’s actually going on up there. If you need a replacement, I’ll walk you through your options and explain what makes each one different. If you don’t need one yet, I’ll tell you that too, and give you a real sense of what to expect down the road.
We replace asphalt shingle roofs, clay and concrete tile roofs, and standing seam and stone-coated steel metal roofs. The process looks different depending on the system, but the approach is the same: full tear-off, no shortcuts on materials, same dedicated crew every time, and you don’t pay until the work is done.
What A Wolfpack Roof Replacement Includes
Replacing your roof means rebuilding the system underneath it too — decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, and all the components that determine how the roof performs over time.
Full Tear-Off & Deck Inspection
We remove everything down to the decking before anything new goes on. That’s the only way to see what’s actually underneath — soft spots, rot, old storm damage, anything that would cause problems later. If we find it, we tell you. We don’t cover over hidden issues.
Underlayment & Waterproofing
The layers beneath the exterior roofing material matter as much as the exterior themselves. For asphalt shingles, we install a complete GAF underlayment and waterproofing system. This includes protection at valleys, edges, and penetrations where water intrusion is most likely. Everything comes from the same manufacturer, which is the only way the full system warranty holds up.
Installation
The parts you see (shingles, tile, metal) go on last, after every other layer of the system is in place. We install all our roofs to manufacturer specifications and current building codes — proper fastening pattern, correct overlap, full alignment. The installation method is what determines lifespan, not just the shingle itself.
Ventilation & System Balance
Ventilation is one of the most overlooked parts of a roof replacement and one of the most important. In Austin’s heat, poor airflow shortens roof life and drives up your cooling costs. GAF requires that ventilation be engineered correctly as part of the system, and we make sure it is.
Roof Types We Replace
Each home in Austin is different, and each roof has specific needs. Our offerings accommodate that. Here are the roofing types we offer…

Asphalt Shingle Replacement
Most Austin homes have asphalt shingles. We replace them the right way — full GAF system, no shortcuts.

Tile Roof Replacement
Traditional clay and concrete tile roofs need a specialist, not whoever’s available. Sotero handles every tile job we do, and we don’t cut corners on what’s underneath.

Metal Roof Replacement
Standing seam and stone-coated steel (DECRA). Decra looks like shingles or tile, handles hail better than both, and carries a 50-year warranty.
What Makes a Wolfpack Replacement Different
In a sea of Austin “roofers,” it can be hard to pick out the real deals. Here’s how we stand out…
I come out personally for every inspection. Me, Michael, the owner. There’s no sales rep handing your job to a production team you’ve never met. When I’m looking at your roof, I’m also the person responsible for it. That changes how the conversation goes.
For asphalt reroofs, Temo and his crew handle the installation. Every single one. For tile and low-slope, it’s Sotero. One crew per trade, no exceptions. You’re not wondering whether you got the reliable team or whoever they could get out there that day.
We don’t get paid until the work is done. That’s not a gimmick. It’s how I operate. We go through the scope together before final payment, and if something isn’t right, it gets fixed. I’m not going to have something sitting wrong on your house and just move on.
If I see something during the job that you should know about — a vent pipe that looks wrong, rotted wood near a penetration, something on the chimney — I’m going to mention it. Not to upsell you. Because I’d want somebody to tell me.

Blake was amazing, he was very understanding and made me feel comfortable. He wasn’t a pushy Salesman’s, more like a friend. If you’re choosing Southern Exterior PLEASE ask for Blake. He will get you where you need to be.

Southern Exteriors recently completed a gutter replacement. They were in and out and could not tell they were there except for the amazing gutters. It was nice during the first rain after the install to now hear water flowing out of my gutters. I would recommend them to anyone, second job they have done on my house, I am thoroughly impressed. Here are some before and after pics. Major difference and am very happy with their craftsmanship and professionalism.
As you will see in the pictures, the end product…
We had the original cedar siding replaced on our house (1960 Ranch). The original cedar shakes were 17" with a 14" reveal and we wanted to go with fiber cement board in the widest possible plank format. Our sales person and project manager let us know about the James Hardie, Cedar Mill, siding in the 12" format with a 10 ¾" reveal. It was exactly what we were looking for. This particular format enabled us to maintain as much of the period look as possible. Along with re-flashing the window frames and also painting, the project could not have turned out any better. We have already had many of our friends and neighbors ask about who did the work and what kind of siding we chose... and we're happy to let them know about Southern Exteriors. In particular, our project manager, who was also the sales person we worked with, went above and beyond in his efforts to both accurately quote the project and also have it finish as close to the forecasted time as was reasonable. He was the only person from the three companies we approached for quotes to spend time in our crawlspace and attic, and was the only person to actually removed original shingles to confirm what lay beneath. As you will see in the pictures, the end product was worth the money.
